Suprabhatam and Coffee

We wake up to my mother in law chanting narayana sahasranamam every morning. Some times she outsources her daily prayer session to MS Subbulakshmi or Yesudas. We got a Bluetooth speaker as a wedding gift and she uses it daily to amplify the sound to reach every corner of the house.

But the highlight of my mornings these days is the coffee. She loves coffee and she makes it lovingly for me too. I was not used to drinking chai or coffee regularly at home. It was bournvita milk on some days or haldi milk on others. This coffee morning routine has brought so much joy to my life.

The Nescafe Sunrise instant coffee is the best amongst the other options available. We tried bru once and couldn’t finish the pouch. My husband and father in law are chai lovers and they prefer Society Tea over other blends.

Our breakfasts is mostly either Idli Dosa Chutney or Puttu Kadala Curry. Now, after my entry into the kitchen, we have added Pohe and Misal Pav to the list. We try to sneak in Dhirda or Green Gram Chilla once in a while. Appam and Stew or Potato Curry are my personal favorite. But I always stock up a big packet of cornflakes as a backup plan.

My aai has suggested trying out a few quick recipes that can help save the precious morning time. I will sharing it with you all soon.
